The Celtic midfielder deserves far more minutes than he has been getting this season.
Last summer Celtic secured the signing of Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan and anyone who had seen the midfielder in action knew the Bhoys were getting a real gem of a player.
But while the 24-year-old has featured 16 times for Ronny Deila’s side this season, the vast majority of those appearances have come from the bench and he has only played twice in the Scottish Premiership for more than 36 minutes.
Such has been Allan’s form when he has come on that many Celtic supporters have been pleading for Deila to give him more chances, and now the player himself has showed emphatically that he is ready to feature more regularly for the Bhoys.
Allan opened the scoring for Celtic’s under-20 side against Dundee United on Tuesday afternoon and he would go on to provide two assists as the young Hoops ran out convincing 4-1 winners.
The simple fact is Allan deserves chances ahead of players like the under-performing Colin Kazim-Richards and it is up to Deila to accept the time is right for some changes in his starting XI.
