Report: Tahith Chong to choose to sign for Manchester United

Feyenoord, De Kuip

Tahith Chong is claimed to want to leave Feyenoord to sign with Manchester United.

Manchester United are close to signing Dutch wonderkid Tahith Chong, according to reports in Holland.

The 16-year-old is the most exciting player in Feyenoord's academy and is a lively winger with an eye for goal.

Feyenoord fan website FR12 report Chong has chosen to sign with Manchester United, and will put pen to paper on a deal in the coming weeks.

A report in the print version of the Algemeen Dagblad is cited, whose shortened online version states Chong has decided to leave Feyenoord despite their best efforts to convince him to turn professional with them when he turns 17.

Dutch magazine Voetball International also report on their website that Chong has decided to move to the Red Devils.

Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all cited with holding interest in Chong.

He is considered an outstanding talent, who is just as noticeable for his wild hair, which is even more remarkable than United midfielder Marouane Fellaini's.

His signing would show United remain capable of attracting top talent across Europe, with manager Louis van Gaal handing first team opportunities to a number of teenagers this season.
