Mark Davies is being made available for loan by Bolton.

Mark Davies has been made available to go out on loan by strugglers Bolton Wanderers, report the Bolton News.

The midfielder came close to leaving the Championship side in the January transfer window to move to Sheffield Wednesday, with the paper reporting how a £750,000 move broke down.

Now the Owls could secure the midfielder for loan until the end of the season, with relegation-bound Bolton seeking to cut costs.

Ipswich Town signed Liam Feeney from the Lancashire side earlier this month, and Davies is claimed by the Bolton News to have been made available after being told he does not feature in their plans for next season.

Davies, 28, has experience playing in the Premier League and could be a useful addition for Sheffield Wednesday's play-off push.

The Owls are currently in sixth place in the Championship table, harbouring realistic hopes of finally earning promotion back to the top flight.
