Current Celtic manager Ronny Deila's contract expires in the summer.
John Hartson has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 22nd March, that Celtic will need to change their strategy if they want David Moyes or Brendan Rodgers to replace Ronny Deila.
Deila’s contract at Celtic expires in the summer, and there are serious question marks forming over his future.
The Norwegian boss is yet to be offered a new deal by the Bhoys, and many supporters are hoping that he won’t stay on.
Deila has not advanced Celtic enough in Europe to win over all the fans at Parkhead, despite looking set to deliver two Scottish Premiership titles in consecutive seasons.
Sections of Celtic fans are hoping that the club show more ambition with their next managerial appointment, with David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers two of the fans’ favourite choices to take over from Deila.
However, Hartson feels that his former side will need to change their strategy to attract either Rodgers or Moyes.
“If it’s David Moyes or Brendan Rodgers, they’d have to rip up the current strategy,” Hartson said. “They’d want money to build and progress in Europe. That’s where the fans want to be.”
Both Rodgers and Moyes are currently out of work and available, following their respective dismissals from Liverpool and Real Sociedad.
