How future of £70m rated striker could affect West Ham, Tottenham

Borussia Dortmund are to rival West Ham and Tottenham for Michy Batshuayi, as they consider alternatives to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is enjoying a dream season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring a staggering 36 goals in 38 games for club and country.

22 of these have been netted in 25 Bundesliga games, and this has led to speculation over his future, with The Mail reporting Manchester United are plotting a £70 million summer move.

This could have repercussions for West Ham, who currently sit one place above the Red Devils in the Premier League, and host Louis van Gaal's side in an upcoming FA Cup quarter final replay, and Tottenham Hotspur, who are battling for the title and face United later this month.

This is because Borussia Dortmund are claimed to have entered the race for top Hammers and Spurs strike target Michy Batshuayi, as report German channel Sport1, who report the German giants sent scouts to watch him in action last weekend.

French outlets FootSur7 and Le10Sport both report that Batshuayi is being targeted as a replacement for Aubameyang, who The Mirror report is also a top target for Real Madrid.

The Mirror reported last month that Tottenham and West Ham are braced for a £25 million battle to sign Belgian international Batshuayi this summer, who is the fourth highest scorer in Ligue 1 this season with 13 goals.

Dortmund are looking better than ever under new boss Thomas Tuchel, demolishing Spurs 5-1 in the Europa League, and offering Batshuayi a place in attack held by Aubameyang, assisted by the likes of Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is surely too good for him to turn down.

This will lead the Premier League duo looking at alternatives, but if Aubameyang stays, it is unlikely Dortmund would want to enter a bidding war which could reach £30 million, as they simply would not need to spend that sort of money on a player to sit behind their current top scorer.
