Tottenham Hotspur overcame Bournemouth at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur put the disappointment of Europa League elimination behind them with a brilliant performance against Bournemouth this weekend.
Spurs headed into the Premier League clash eight points behind leaders Leicester City, so they could not afford to drop points against the Cherries. And so it proved as a Harry Kane brace and a strike from Christian Eriksen ensured Tottenham secured a comfortable victory.
After the game some of those involved in the match-day squad took to Twitter to have their say, including 18-year-old right-back Kyle Walker-Peters who was named on the bench on Sunday.
The teenager is one of the most highly rated youngsters coming through the ranks at White Hart Lane right now and he was clearly pleased to have been involved, writing, “What a day! Now off to meet the England U19 squad.”
Walker-Peters may yet make his debut this season, but not as long as Tottenham remain in with a chance of finishing above Leicester.
Other players to get involved included Kane, who wrote, “Great team performance again today. Solid 3-0 victory. Time to focus on the international games.”
In many ways the international break has come at the worst possible time but it cannot be helped and it is how Spurs' players respond on their return that will determine the rest of the campaign.
Eriksen, Kyle Walker and Ryan Mason also took to social media after the final whistle and their comments can be seen below.
