Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth clashed at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Tottenham Hotspur headed into the international break with a brilliant 3-0 victory against Bournemouth to close the gap on Premier League leaders Leicester City to five points.
Harry Kane opened the scoring for Spurs after just 44 seconds, and he would later add a second before Danish international Christian Eriksen put the icing on the cake with a third.
While Kane and Eriksen took the plaudits, it was very much a team performance, with left-back Danny Rose also looking particularly impressive. But what did fans think of Erik Lamela’s latest showing?
The Argentine international took time to settle at White Hart Lane but he has played an integral role in Tottenham’s climb up the table this season, with manager Mauricio Pochettino getting the best out of him more often than not.
The 24-year-old has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 38 matches for Tottenham this season and while he could not add to either tally on Sunday he still performed well during his 66 minutes on the pitch.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought of Lamela’s latest showing and you can read a selection of what we found below:
The job Pochettino has done with Lamela is fantastic, such a important player for #THFC— Andrew (@andrew_saintsfc) March 20, 2016
I like Lamela, but I'd take Mane over him...— Brett Nurse (@brnurse) March 20, 2016
@spursycob today Lamela, though I don't think anyone had a bad game. Was a cruise and we didn't step out of 2nd gear— Ryan Morgan (@HotdogofLondon) March 20, 2016
The one player I just can't get my head round is Lamela. Did absolutely nothing today. Nothing good, nothing bad, just nothing,— Dave (@hellothere_64) March 20, 2016
Genuine question, those who slag Lamela off weekly, who would you pick instead? Not saying we can't improve on him, but mean now, from squad— Mark Pipe (@Pipey78) March 20, 2016
If Lamela could only add more goals to his game he'd be borderline brilliant #Spurs— Matt G (@MattGav1985) March 21, 2016
Lamela misses far too many sitters. In crucial games where you have a couple of chances only, it's important to have sometime to finish.— Mr Spurfect (@MrOKanenas) March 21, 2016
