Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday.
Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of DeAndre Yedlin against Newcastle United away from home on Sunday afternoon.
The USA international defender, who joined Sunderland on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2015, started the Tyne-Wear derby at St. James’ Park and played for the entire 90 minutes.
It was a tough afternoon for the right-back, but he did the best he could and did keep Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko under control.
Yedlin could have done better on certain occasions during the match, but at 22 years of age, the youngster is still learning.

Yedlin looked like a rabbit in the headlights today like. #SAFC— Lee Wickham (@LdoubleE_87) March 20, 2016
Think Yedlin and Van Aanholt keep wandering forward and centrally. Allowed too much width and it cost. Disappointing result #SAFC— Mark Wilson (@MarkA_Wilson) March 20, 2016
Yedlin is the reason we're not getting 3 points. He's cost us against Palace and Southampton must be dropped #safc— Zach McAskill (@ZachMcAskill) March 20, 2016
Sam lost the plot a little. As for Yedlin time to bench him permanently. An absolute liability but no full backs at the club #safc— paul stokes (@PaulStokes_) March 20, 2016
