Newcastle United and Stoke City are among the clubs to have enquired about signing Michy Batshuayi, with West Ham also keen.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United have enquired about signing Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, but so have Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur and even Atletico Madrid.

The Magpies are mired in a relegation battle, and whilst Aleksandar Mitrovic's late equaliser against Sunderland on Sunday handed them a 1-1 draw, the point wasn't exactly ideal for Rafael Benitez's men in their fight against the drop.

Newcastle's biggest problem this season has been scoring goals, as Mitrovic has only bagged six times since arriving from Anderlecht last summer, whilst Ayoze Perez, Papiss Cisse and Seydou Doumbia have had little impact in front of goal so far.

If Newcastle do stay up, then manager Benitez will surely be looking to bring in a top new striker, and Sky Sports suggest that the Magpies have enquired about a summer deal for Marseille hitman Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian international, 22, joined from Standard Liege back in 2014, and has hit 18 goals in all competitions for the cash-strapped Ligue 1 side Marseille, who were forced to let the likes of Giannelli Imbula, Dimitri Payet, Andre Ayew and Andre-Pierre Gignac leave the club last summer.

Batshuayi may follow them out of the door this summer, with Newcastle keen to land the striker in a bid to add pace, power and goal to their attacking options - but relegation would definitely rule them out of the race, and they already face major competition.

The report adds that Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid have all enquired about signing Batshuayi at the end of the season, whilst West Ham United are also keen on the player, who should have no shortage of options if he does choose to leave France this summer.

Do you think Newcastle have a chance of signing Batshuayi if they stay up?
