Photo: Dimitri Payet's face as he joins France squad says it all

Upton Park

The West Ham playmaker has finally been called up to the French national side.

It's been a long time coming for Dimitri Payet but a place in the France squad is finally his again.

Indeed, many at West Ham United have been left in total bewilderment as the 28-year-old was excluded from squad after squad with the French national side.

But Payet's exceptional West Ham form has earned him a place in the side - and his face said it all when he joined up with his national team-mates.

Payet was all smiles and Didier Deschamps should be able to see first hand just what the playmaker has to offer right now.

The Hammers faithful will feel relieved that Payet has been rewarded for his impact at Upton Park.

A great Euro 2016, should the 28-year-old remain in the France team, would no doubt boost his confidence further ahead of next season.

Providing Payet can stay relatively fit and injury free, that should allow for even more brilliance from the Frenchman at West Ham.
