The Saints came from two goals down to get the better of Liverpool 3-2 at home in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge put the Reds in the lead after just 22 minutes, but second-half goals from Sadio Mane (two) and Graziano Pelle saw Ronald Koeman’s side pick up all three points from the encounter at St. Mary’s Stadium.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon, hosts Southampton had 49% of the possession, took 16 shots of which only five were on target, and earned three corners.
Visitors Liverpool had 51% of the possession, took 18 shots of which nine were on target, and earned five corners.
The win against the Reds means that Southampton are now seventh in the Premier League table.
