The former Newcastle forward was following the Tyne-Wear derby at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon, and he was not impressed with the performance of the players in the first half.
Asprilla outlined the total cost of the players in the Magpies’ starting lineup and on the substitutes’ bench, and then suggested that most of them were not performing.

Cost of NUFC bench: £14.5m
Cost of NUFC players not involved £56.7m
¿Where's the money?
For sure they don't care to stay in @premierleague anymore!— Faustino Asprilla (@TinoasprillaH) March 20, 2016
Newcastle’s overall performance against Sunderland was disappointing, although they did come back strongly in the final stages of the game to earn a point.
Rob Elliot, Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba had decent a decent game, while Aleksandar Mitrovic made himself a hero to the St. James’ Park faithful with his late equaliser.
There is still a lot of work to do for Newcastle, but fans should remain optimistic about survival.
Under new manager Rafael Benitez, the Magpies have shown some signs of improvement, and there is still fight left in the current group of players.
