The Tottenham talent's England chances have been discussed on MOTD.
Indeed, the pundit believes his rashness is something you can't afford at international level.
And that's Murphy's main concern with the 19-year-old, despite admitting his current ability is more than good enough to secure a starting spot for the Three Lions.
Murphy told MOTD 2 on Sunday night: "My only concern with Dele Alli is that there is a bit of rashness, sometimes he’ll dive into a tackle. And, at international level, you can’t have that.
"But, in terms of ability, yes Alli should start for England."
Alli looks set for a big role with England this summer - and it'll be interesting to see how Roy Hodgson uses him against Germany and the Netherlands.
When the 19-year-old returns from international duty, Spurs face a tough double header in the Premier League, traveling to Anfield to face Liverpool before hosting Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham will feel they can beat both but, one defeat combined with a Leicester win would put Mauricio Pochettino's men eight points behind the Foxes in the title race.
