Benik Afobe admits he is stunned at how fast former England under-21 teammate Harry Kane is.
Speaking to The Sun, Afobe says he is still good pals with Kane, who he also knew from coming through the ranks at North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.
Afobe said: "People were saying last season ‘He has come from nowhere’ but he’s always been one of the country’s most talented young strikers.
“He’s focused and has a lot of desire to be a top player. He used to be quite slow — but now he explodes out of the blocks. That is because of all his hard graft."
Kane and Afobe were on opposing sides at the weekend for Tottenham and Bournemouth, with the Spurs man coming out on top, netting a brace in a 3-0 win, taking his league tally for the season to 21 goals.
This kept Spurs within five points from the top of the table, and while Afobe has a way to go to catch his teammate up in terms of top flight goals and a title challenge, the form of Leicester this season should remind him that anything is possible.
