BBC pundit addresses his 'one season wonder' comments about Tottenham's Kane

Garth Crooks says he should not have worried about Tottenham's Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored twice to set the team on their way to a 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

The brace took his tally to 21 Premier League goals for the season, and 24 in all competitions.

Suggestions made earlier in the season that his 2014/15 exploits would prove to be a one season wonder now look laughable, and one pundit who voiced his fears has admitted he had no need to worry.

Former Tottenham player Garth Crooks, picked Kane in his team of the week for his BBC Sport column, and acknowledged he was wrong about the striker.

He said: "Some of you may remember that I said at the start of the season that I had fears for Kane with regard to second season syndrome but I need not have worried. The striker is looking every bit the real deal."

He went onto add that he hopes desperately that Kane returns from international duty without injury, as Tottenham's title challenge enters a critical phase of the campaign, now free from the Europa League as a distraction.

Spurs remain five points behind leaders Leicester City, and sit in second place ahead of rivals Arsenal.
