Aston Villa reportedly want Nigel Pearson to take over from Remi Garde.
The majority of Aston Villa supporters appear to be supporting the idea of Brendan Rodgers being handed the job at Villa Park ahead of Nigel Pearson.
According to The Sun, Pearson sits at the top of Villa’s managerial wishlist, as they plan for life in the Championship next season.
Current boss Remi Garde is reportedly set to be sacked in the coming weeks, with Villa now looking to appoint a manager with more experience of the English game.
Pearson’s most recent job came at Leicester, where he guided the Foxes to promotion from the Championship, and then kept them in the Premier League the following season.
Pearson is credited for laying the foundations to enable Leicester to make their title push this term, but Villa supporters aren’t all enthusiastic about the idea of the 52-year-old taking over.
Many of the Claret and Blues supporters feel that Rodgers would be a better choice to take them forward in the future.
For all the debate on Managers, its a tough one you more than a few well capable at Championship level. I'd like Brendan Rodgers. #avfc— Roger. W (@RogW38) March 20, 2016

@StanCollymore Villa need to push the boat out and go for David Moyes or Rodgers now, before they get snapped up, and pay millions— Alex Demetriou (@ademetriou23) March 19, 2016
Pearson did have some support from Villa fans on social media, though, with a section of the club’s fans wanting a boss with experience of the Championship.
Get Pearson in ASAP and let him tear into the useless bunch of ostriches. Everyone of em deserves a slap #avfc— MR H (@craigheslip) March 21, 2016
