Alan Shearer makes a confident claim about brilliant West Ham's future

The former striker and current pundit has heaped praise on West Ham.

Alan Shearer says it's tough not to be impressed by West Ham United and feels the 'brilliant' Irons have a lot to look forward to at the Olympic Stadium, according to the BBC's Match of the Day 2.

Indeed, the pundit has praised West Ham and Dimitri Payet and believes the east London club have a strong future ahead of them.

Slaven Bilic's men drew 2-2 at Chelsea on Saturday afternoon - and only after a questionable refereeing decision handed the Blues a late equaliser.

Shearer told MOTD 2: "I don’t think you can’t be impressed with West Ham. Payet’s been sensational and they’ve been brilliant. They have a lot to look forward to with the new stadium next season."

The Hammers are clearly going in the right direction and have a bright future ahead of them as Shearer suggests.

Several opposition fans have criticised West Ham this season but they don't really appear to be paying attention to the Premier League.

Ahead of next season, Liverpool have some promise under Jurgen Klopp, while Southampton look strong under Ronald Koeman.

Leicester City are thriving, while Tottenham are looking strong, too. But next in line (and perhaps even ahead of the others) in terms of heading down the right path are West Ham.

Arsenal are even worse than usual, while the Manchester clubs are simply capitulating...
