West Ham United joint-chairman David Gold has praised the club’s fans on Twitter following the recent draw with Chelsea.

The two sides drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with the Hammers twice having had the lead in the game.

Indeed, they were unfortunate not to leave with all three points against their rivals as Cesc Fabregas scored a controversial penalty to draw the sides level.

It was a disappointing result for Slaven Bilic’s side as a win would have seen them move into the top four in the Premier League table.

Gold, though, was keen to praise the club’s travelling support, saying they deserved three points in the game.

The Hammers will now be hoping to return to winning ways as soon as possible as they hunt down those top four places.

Securing Champions League football would cap off an excellent first campaign for Bilic, who has impressed since replacing Sam Allardyce in the summer.

The top four seems to be second in their thoughts though, with everyone at the club determined to enjoy FA Cup success this season, eyeing the competition as a fitting send off for Upton Park.
