Tottenham Hotspur won comfortably against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs went ahead after just 44 seconds courtesy of Harry Kane, and the England international doubled his tally with just 16 minutes on the clock before Christian Eriksen put the icing on the cake.
It was the perfect response from a Tottenham side that had seen Leicester City move eight points clear at the top of the table 24 hours earlier, and while they remain five points behind the Foxes heading into the international break Spurs still have plenty to play for.
Tottenham’s dominance was clear from beginning to end and that great showing was something Pochettino could not help but comment on after the final whistle.
“It was very important to score early on in the game; then we had to show a strong mentality to manage the game,” Pochettino told the BBC.
“Today was one of the best performances of the season.”
Next up for Tottenham – after the vast majority of their players head off on international duty – is a match against Liverpool at Anfield that is a huge clash for both sides followed by a humdinger against Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
