Nottingham Forest midfielder Gary Gardner says team deserved more v Derby County

The on loan Villa midfielder was disappointed with the derby day loss.

Nottingham Forest took on local rivals Derby County this lunchtime. Unfortunately it was not the result they would have been after, losing 1-0 after a goal from Rams left-back Marcus Olsson.

It was a result that highlighted the tight nature of this game, but Forest fans will no doubt feel they were hard done by to come away with nothing from the fixture.

Once again it was a lack of a killer instinct that seemed to cost them, it seemed only a spectacular effort would find the back of the net for Forest.

They have a player capable of such a feat, midfielder Gary Gardner has a wonderstrike in him.

But the midfielder could not find the back of the net and he was brave enough on Twitter to come out and tweet the Forest fans after a bitter derby defeat:

Gardner, on loan from Aston Villa, looks set to be playing in the Championship next season - parent or loan club.

Forest fans would certainly like to have him on board. Not only is he a tireless player on the pitch but he is always ready to front up off it when Forest suffer defeat.
