Jamie Carragher shares what surprises him about Ronald Koeman

Jamie Carragher suggests that the Southampton boss is good enough to manage Arsenal, Manchester United or Chelsea.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested in The Daily Mail that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is good enough to manage Arsenal, Manchester United or Chelsea.

“Southampton fans won’t thank me for this, but with speculation over the jobs at Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, I’m surprised he has not been considered,” the former Liverpool defender wrote in The Daily Mail. “He is a class act with a pedigree to match.”

Koeman has been in charge of Southampton since the summer of 2014, and he has done a remarkable job at St. Mary’s Stadium.

The football that the Saints play is quite entertaining, and the Dutchman has shown that he can work with a limited budget.

The former Netherlands international was a great player during his time, and featured for some big clubs such as Ajax, PSV and Barcelona.

Perhaps it is only a matter of time before Koeman lands a job at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Arsenal, United and Chelsea are three of the biggest clubs in England, and maybe they should be looking at the 52-year-old.

Southampton, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, are eighth in the standings at the moment.

The Saints will take on Liverpool at St. Mary’s Stadium in the league this afternoon.
