Newcastle United, Sunderland and Norwich City are in danger of getting relegated from the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the Tyne–Wear derby result.

Newcastle United and Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Jermain Defoe put the Black Cats in the lead on the stroke of half time, but Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised for the home team on 83 minutes.

Former Tottenham and Leicester striker Lineker was following the match, and he believes that the result is great for Norwich City. Newcastle legend Alan Shearer shares his opinion.

Sunderland and Newcastle remain in the Premier League relegation zone with 26 and 25 points respectively.

Norwich are 17th in the standings at the moment with 28 points, but they have played a game more.

However, there is no guarantee that Sunderland or Newcastle will win their game in hand, and the draw at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon certainly helps the Canaries.
