The Austrian and the South Korean both arrived from Bundesliga football.
Tottenham Hotspur are having a great season and their summer additions have proved very helpful toward the end of the season - including Austrian international defender Kevin Wimmer.
The summer signing from FC Koln was not expected to feature much this season and for the first half of the season that was certainly the case.
However, in the wake of Jan Vertonghen's knee injury, Wimmer has stepped up and performed more than admirably in the heart of the Tottenham defence.
He was not the only summer arrival from German football.
Spurs also signed South Korean international Heung-min Son from Bayer Leverkusen.
Speaking to Soccer AM the Tottenham defender revealed that Son is his best mate at the club:
"I have a few very good mates at the club. But I think Heung-min Son is the guy I like the most.
"Because of course we speak the same language as well. Not Korean, German obviously.
"He is a very funny guy."
He is not the first person at the club to mention the happy attitude of Son at the club. The South Korean has clearly added a positive attitude to the club since his arrival from Bayer.
Son started the season well on the pitch but has trailed off recently, although he did score against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League earlier this week.
Spurs fans will hope that the Tottenham joker can continue to have a serious impact on the pitch.
