Spanish football expert says Coutinho is not good enough for Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho is a key player for Liverpool at the moment.

Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports that Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is not good enough to play for Barcelona.

Responding to a question from a Barca fan about the Catalan giants’ interest in the attacking midfielder and if he is Barcelona material, Balague told Sky Sports: “No, he is not Barcelona material. He is miles away from being a Barcelona player. He has a lot of potential, but in that department they are sorted.”

Coutinho is a very good player and could become world class in the coming years, but at the moment he is not good enough to play for Barcelona.

Barcelona are arguably the best club side in the world and have world-class players all over the pitch.

While Coutinho is a very important player for Liverpool and has a lot of potential, he is far too inconsistent to be playing for the Blaugrana.

Moreover, there is no space in the Barca first team at the moment for the Brazil international. Who is the 23-year-old, who can also play as a winger, going to replace?

The former Inter Milan attacking midfielder has scored five goals and created 30 chances in 19 Premier League appearances for Liverpool so far this season.

Coutinho has a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 44%, and has won two headers, 34 dribbles and 23 tackles.
