It was a result that saw the end of Dougie Freedman's reign at Forest. The Scot had done a great job at the club, especially when it came to sourcing players from abroad.
One such talent was Nelson Oliveira. The Portuguese international arrived on loan from Benfica and has gone on to become something of a cult hero at the club.
He did not play against Wednesday last weekend because of a groin injury. In fact, that injury has ruled him out for the season and Euro 2016 - with the forward returning to Benfica.
But should Wednesday try and bring him back to England next summer?
The attacker has proven himself very talented in the English game, scoring nine goals this season but bringing his cultured play into proceedings.
Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal, himself Portuguese, will no doubt have his own connections in his homeland that could help Sheffield Wednesday make a move for Oliveira.
If they are promoted to the Premier League or not the 24-year-old is a mercurial talent who could thrive in the English game.
Wednesday would be right to keep an eye on him.
