Everton fans react on Twitter to Muhamed Besic performance v Arsenal

Bosnia crowd with flag

The Bosnian struggled for his best form against Arsenal today.

Everton put in a limp performance against Arsenal in the Premier League earlier today. Goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi tied up a comfortable win for Arsenal before half-time and Everton offered little resistance in the second 45 minutes.

The performance was certainly not up to scratch from Everton and there were some poor performances across the board.

Unfortunately, Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic really stood out.

He was handed a start in the absence of Gareth Barry, who picked up a suspension in the FA Cup quarter-final with Chelsea last weekend, but struggled to get into the pace of the fixture as Arsenal overran Everton in the midfield.

When Besic has played for Everton in the past he has always looked fantastic, hungry and tenacious in the middle of the park. But he seemed to be off the pace in this game.

He was not alone in performing poorly. Ross Barkley and James McCarthy both struggled in the game as well.

With that in mind it is perhaps harsh to single out Besic, who was subbed off for John Stones at half-time, but plenty of Everton fans pulled no punches on Twitter...
