David Seaman was among a number of high-profile former players to take to social networking site Twitter in order to praise Arsenal on their 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
The Gunners headed in to the game following a fairly turbulent past few weeks, resulting in exits from both the Champions League and the FA Cup at the hands of Barcelona and Watford respectively.
The Premier League title is their last hope of silverware for the season, and Arsene Wenger’s side knew only all three points against Everton would suffice as they look to claw back leaders Leicester City.
In what was expected to be a tricky afternoon for the visitors, Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi fired in two first-half goals to give Arsenal a commanding lead and they easily saw out the second period.
Writing on Twitter after the game, David Seaman and former Manchester City player Rodney Marsh were quick to praise the Gunners while the latter had harsh words for the Toffees.
Great result at the end of a difficult week!!— David Seaman (@thedavidseaman) March 19, 2016

Top win for Arsenal after going out 2 competitions in one week— Mick Quinn (@mickquinn1089) March 19, 2016
Everton, following their FA Cup quarter-final win over Chelsea, should have been in buoyant mood heading in to the clash yet they were so sloppy in possession it became far too easy for Arsenal.
The North London club were excellent in the first-half, yet in the second period they rarely got out of second gear and managed to counter anything the Merseyside club threw at them.
Arsenal’s win momentarily takes them to within eight points of Premier League leaders Leicester, with the Foxes to play a struggling Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park later on Saturday.
