Darren Huckerby among others reacts on Twitter to Norwich City’s vital win

West Brom - The Hawthorns

Norwich City defeated West Bromwich Albion 1-0.

Former player Darren Huckerby was among a number of high-profile former players to praise Norwich City on Twitter following their 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

The Canaries started the weekend in 18th position, sandwiched in-between North East rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland having not won a Premier League game since early January.

Many have tipped them to join Aston Villa in the Championship, yet Alex Neil’s men are determined to preserve their status in the top-flight and picked up a dogged win at West Brom.

Writing on social networking site Twitter after the game, Darren Huckerby was among a number of former professionals to praise Norwich on what could be described as a vital victory.

The only goal of the game came via Norwich midfielder Robbie Brady with the game’s only shot on target.

The Republic of Ireland international reacted quickest to Mat Jarvis’ miscued effort and slotted home from close range, much to the delight of the thousands backing the Norfolk side.

Johnny Howson and Jarvis were two of the game’s better players on the day, as they alongside Brady controlled the midfield and stopped the Baggies from mounting any serious attacks.

The victory momentarily moves Norwich out of the bottom three, though with Newcastle to play Sunderland on Sunday they could find themselves back in the drop zone depending on how that one pans out.
