BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson explains his confident prediction for Tottenham v Bournemouth

Mark Lawrenson believes Tottenham will beat Bournemouth 2-1 on Sunday.

Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Bournemouth's recent run of good form will come to an end against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Spurs head into the game having lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, meaning they went crashing out of the Europa League with a 5-1 aggregate scoreline.

Tottenham remain five points behind league leaders Leicester City, and with just eight games left to play, Mauricio Pochettino's men are running out of games to make up the difference, and need to keep winning.

This weekend they take on Bournemouth, who they beat 5-1 earlier in the season, with star striker Harry Kane scoring a superb hat-trick to take down Eddie Howe's men.

The Cherries enter this game having won their last three games, including the entertaining 3-2 victory over Swansea City last weekend.

Now 13 points clear of the relegation zone, Bournemouth have virtually secured safety this season, and manager Howe deserves great praise not only for the recent run of form, but for their performances throughout the season.

Ahead of Sunday's clash, pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his prediction on the game, telling BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham will win the game 2-1, confidently believing that Pochettino's men will bring an end to Bournemouth's run of results.

"Bournemouth's last four games have seen them take 10 points out of a possible 12 but I see their good run ending on Sunday," said Lawrenson. "The Cherries will go at Tottenham but I think that will suit Mauricio Pochettino's side, who are focused on their title bid." he added.
