Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Dwight Yorke’s comments

Aston Villa are fighting for survival in the Premier League at the moment.

Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to make it clear that they do not want Dwight Yorke as their manager.

Yorke is one of the greatest players to have featured in the Premier League and actually started his footballing career at Villa.

The former Trinidad and Tobago international forward achieved massive success with Manchester United, winning the Premier League thrice, the FA Cup once and the Champions League on one occasion.

Earlier this week, Yorke told talkSPORT that he would be interested in managing Villa.

Remi Garde is in charge of the Villans at the moment, but many will question whether he would stay on if the club fail to avoid relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.

Yorke admitted that he would be interested in the Villa managerial job if the chance presented itself.

“I would be lying to you guys if I said I wasn’t interested in the job,” the former Sunderland man told talkSPORT. “I respect the manager in the position at this point in time but in terms of passion – yes.”

“I do love the club, I understand the club and with my experience and a team I can put together to try and bring Aston Villa back [to the Premier League],” added Yorke. “It’s something that I am passionate about.”

Villa fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the prospect of Yorke becoming the manager.
