Iwobi, an Arsenal academy player, has broken through to the first-team squad this season and made his first Champions League start in the 3-1 defeat at Barcelona in midweek.
Arsene Wenger clearly feels he is a top prospect at the club, and the French boss opted for his services again against Everton inn Saturday’s early kick-off and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Iwobi says he is happy his goal helped his side earn all three points while also making a note of his enjoyment at playing and training alongside striker Welbeck.
"I enjoyed the moment, but I'm happy the team won. I enjoy training with Danny, he gives me confidence and despite recent results we are all confident in training,” he explained.
Welbeck has come back in to the Arsenal team following the return from his injury and he has made an impact, scoring the winner against Leicester City and providing a different option upfront.
Olivier Giroud has been the club’s number one striker for much of the campaign, and his presence and hold-up play allows the midfielders to push up and get involved in the final third.
But Welbeck in contrast offers something different, as his willingness to run into the channels creates space in midfield and allows Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Iwobi room to manoeuvre.
Iwobi, 19, can play on the wing, upfront or through the middle of midfield, offering versatility which will aid his chances of making more appearances for the North London club.
