Yann M'Vila puts his good form down to Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce

Sunderland midfielder Yann M'Vila has made 31 appearances so far this season.

Yann M’Vila has told the Daily Mirror that the reason he is happy at Sunderland is all down to Sam Allardyce.

M’Vila joined Sunderland last summer from Rubin Kazan, and he has been one of their most consistent players throughout the season so far.

The French midfielder has provided power and pace to Sunderland’s midfielder ranks, and he has fully established himself a key player in the Black Cats’ side.

However, M’Vila feels that he has a lot to owe Allardyce, as he says that the 61-year-old boss has placed great faith in him.

“Just to clarify something... the reason I’m on the pitch, playing well and happy is also thanks to the gaffer for the confidence he’s put in me," he said.

M’Vila has turned out to be the best addition that Dick Advocaat made during his time at the Stadium of Light.

While many of Sunderland’s signings last summer have struggled to make an impact, the former Inter Milan midfielder has been a revelation.

M’Vila has racked up 31 appearances in all competitions, and he will be hugely important as Sunderland look to avoid the drop.

Sunderland’s next match comes against their local rivals Newcastle United, and Allardyce’s side could move four points clear of the drop zone if they are able to win.
