The midfielder recently signed a new five-year deal wth the Hammers.
The midfielder signed a new five-year deal with the Hammers on Friday, becoming one of several stars to commit their future to the club in recent weeks.
The Senegal midfielder has been a regular in Slaven Bilic’s side this season alongside Mark Noble in the heart of midfield in an impressive campaign.
So far he has racked up 26 appearances, the third most of any player this year for the side, with four goals and an assists also on his record.
Those stats have arguably earned him his new deal, and he was keen to thank the club for their faith in him.
“I am very happy and would like to thank everybody here at the club, the manager, the fans and also my parents. I think that it is the start of the next chapter for us to go on and discover the new stadium.”
“I am really excited to begin the next year with my team. I am delighted to have signed the contract which allows to play a part in this project.”
While Kouyate is excited to start next season, he would do well to keep his eye on the remainder of this one first.
The Hammers are currently fighting on two fronts, with a top four place not beyond them yet and a place in the FA Cup semi finals still up for grabs.
The latter of those in particular is the most exciting of the two, as the club seeks to win the tournament as a fitting farewell for Upton Park.
