Tottenham Hotspur lost 5-1 on aggregate to Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason has admitted that his side were ‘well beaten’ by Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.
Dortmund won 2-1 at White Hart Lane last night, to book their place in the quarter finals of the European competition.
The German side largely dominated their tie, going through 5-1 on aggregate, and Mason admits that Spurs just need to look back on the matches as a learning experience.

Tottenham’s tie against Dortmund was effectively over in the first leg, as Thomas Tuchel’s side managed to establish a 3-0 advantage in front of their own fans.
Mauricio Pochettino rotated Spurs’ side for the match at Westfalenstadion, and he has since admitted that it was a mistake to do so.
Spurs may have competed better had they named a full strength side, but as it was they were blown away by Dortmund.
The Bundesliga giants caused Tottenham constant problems throughout both matches, with the likes of Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proving their class.
Spurs’ attention will now return to their Premier League campaign, with a match against Bournemouth next up at the weekend.
