Paul Merson worries for Leicester City, can see them losing three in a row

Pundit is worried about Leicester City.

Paul Merson has told SkySports he is worried for Leicester City's title chances after their poor performance against Newcastle United on Monday night.

Speaking to SkySports Fantasy Football Club podcast, Merson said he feels that if Leicester play the same way they did over the coming games, they will not win the title.

Leicester beat Newcastle 1-0 through a Shinji Okazaki goal, restoring their five point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Merson is very pessimistic about their prospects after that display, and expects the losses to begin piling up.

He said: "I watched Leicester the other day at home, if they keep on playing like that until end of season they will not win the league.

"Is it a bad day at the office, or have they been punching above their weight? If they lost three on the trot now, would you be surprised?

"How they played the other day was how everybody said Leicester would be like this season. That's Leicester. Don't be surprised...[if they lose]."

Merson added that he forecasts a 2-1 defeat for Leicester at the hands of Crystal Palace this weekend.

They play on Saturday, ahead of rivals Tottenham, knowing a win can put the pressure on their title rivals.

Claudio Ranieri's Leicester are on the verge of an incredible achievement, and need to keep carry on proving the doubters wrong, as they have done all season long.
