Leeds’ January signing impressed with midfield teammate, comments on their understanding

Toumani Diagouraga joined Leeds United from Brentford, while Liam Bridcutt arrived from Sunderland on loan.

Toumani Diagouraga has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is enjoying playing with Liam Bridcutt in midfield for Leeds United.

Diagouraga joined Leeds from Championship rivals Brentford in the January transfer window, while Bridcutt has been on loan at the Whites since November 2015.

“We’re understanding each other,” Diagouraga told The Yorkshire Evening Post regarding his partnership with Bridcutt. “He’s a good player, he’s come from a Premier League club, and we’ve got a good understanding.”

Diagouraga has been superb for Leeds since his arrival from Brentford and has been one of the best players for the Whites.

The 28-year-old midfielder has created six chances in eight Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

The former Peterborough United man has a pass accuracy of 87%, and has won three headers, four dribbles and six tackles.

Bridcutt has created 14 chances in 18 league matches for Leeds so far this campaign.

The Sunderland-owned midfielder has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 17%, and has won 21 headers, eight dribbles and 35 tackles.

Leeds are 13th in the Championship table at the moment with 47 points from 36 matches.
