Jamie Carragher and Nathaniel Clyne took to Twitter straight after the Europa League quarter-final draw was announced.
Liverpool, who knocked Manchester United out in the last 16, will take on Borussia Dortmund - Jurgen Klopp's former side and the favourites to win the competition.
It was written in the stars, of course, and the only shame for fans is that the two teams weren't drawn together in the final.
The Reds may have preferred different (easier) opponents but Liverpool's great European tradition demands only the very best and the players won't shy away from the challenge.
Emotions will run high for Klopp and right-back Clyne is looking forward to an 'interesting draw.'
Carragher, meanwhile, has great memories of Dortmund's Westfalenstadion - the venue where Liverpool last won Europa's second-tier continental competition.
The Reds will be up against it but Klopp knows what he is doing. And Liverpool have beaten competition favourites many times before on the road to European glory...
