Gary Lineker reacts to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's response about his plans to stop Everton striker Romelu Lukaku

Everton are Arsenal are set to meet at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Gary Lineker has reacted with scepticism after hearing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s response when asked how he planned to deal with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Everton are set to host Arsenal at the weekend, and there are fears that Lukaku could do damage to the Gunners’ defence.

However, when Wenger was quizzed on how he planned to stop the 22-year-old forward, he did not appear concerned. The French boss simply stated that Arsenal had played against the Barcelona trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar recently, but Lineker was quick to point out the Gunners’ lack of success against them.

Messi, Suarez and Neymar were the architects of Arsenal’s downfall in the Champions League.

Wenger’s men were dumped out of Europe’s elite competition 5-1 by the Spanish giants on aggregate, with the feared trio scoring all of Barcelona’s goals in the tie.

Lukaku will be hoping to be similarly successful against Arsenal’s defence on Saturday, as he aims to keep up his good form.

The Belgian international has 25 goals to his name already this season, but he did not score against Arsenal when the two sides met at the Emirates Stadium back in October 2015.
