Manchester United and Liverpool faced each other in the Europa League on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to make an interesting observation about Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The former Tottenham and Leicester City striker made the observation during the Europa League last-16 second-leg clash between United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

Former Liverpool and Leeds United defender Jim Beglin was following the match, and he made a sarcastic comment about Belgium international midfielder Fellaini on Twitter.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Old Trafford on Thursday evening, Fellaini took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 78%, created two chances, attempted three dribbles, won 50% of his tackles and 40% of his headers, and mad two interceptions, four clearances and one block.

The former Everton midfielder also committed four fouls and earned one yellow card against Liverpool.

Fellaini has scored one goal and created nine chances in 15 Premier League appearances for United so far this season.

The Belgian midfielder has a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 54%, and has won 38 headers, 14 dribbles and 13 tackles.
