Tottenham Hotspur fail to claw back their first-leg deficit against Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham Hotspur bowed out of Europe on Thursday, after failing to claw back their 3-0 first-leg deficit on Borussia Dortmund.
In fact, the margin only got bigger, courtesy of a 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane, in which two Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goals put Thomas Tuchel's side out of sight.
South Korean forward Son Heung-min did leave a blot on Dortmund's copybook in the 73rd minute, but it was too little too late for Mauricio Pochettino's Premier League title chasers.
The one consolation is that Spurs can now focus their complete attention on catching Leicester City at the top of the table, with eight games left in which to do it.
And with nine points separating the Lilywhites from their London rivals West Ham United in fifth, the chances are they'll be playing their continental football in the Champions League next term.
