Mauricio Pochettino's men crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of the Bundesliga side.
Dele Alli believes that Tottenham's disappointing defeat to Borussia Dortmund will be forgotten if Mauricio Pochettino's men manage to go on and win the Premier League title this season, The Sun reports.
Spurs crashed out at the last 16 phase of the Europa League after the Bundesliga side won the second leg 2-1 at White Hart Lane to seal a 5-1 aggregate win.
But with the club flying high in the league, Alli believes that catching leaders Leicester would automatically banish any painful memories that Thomas Tuchel's side inflicted.
"Dortmund was a great learning experience for us and all the players," he told The Sun.
"We are a young team and is it is important that we don't let it get us down.
"We must keep fighting - and if we win the league, this will all be forgotten."
With eight games to go, Spurs are five points adrift of the Foxes. And with Pochettino's men having the slightly tougher run-in based on the league positions of the sides they are still left to face - with five of their remaining opponents currently in the top half of the table compared to Leicester's four - no longer having the distraction of any other competition could be a blessing in disguise as the team can concentrate all their energy on achieving one goal.
And if they are able to catch Claudio Ranieri's men, the experience of making a late surge to get across the line will surely benefit them when they get the opportunity to take on some of Europe's best next season.
