Ayoze Perez sends three-word message to Sunderland on Twitter ahead of derby

The Newcastle forward has done his social-media talking ahead of the Sunderland clash - now to back it up.

Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has sent a three-word message on Twitter ahead of his side's crunch Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, the Spaniard has emphasised the words 'we are United' ahead of a do-or-die clash for the Magpies.

Perez was marginalised by Steve McClaren during the last days of the previous Newcastle boss's tenure - another of his bizarre decisions that proved he was totally out of his depth.

It's unclear who Rafa Benitez will go with against the Black Cats. Is he going to stick with Newcastle's more consistent starters - or go for some surprise selections due to their traditionally poor performances?

Perez has talked the talk on Twitter, of course, but delivering against Sunderland on the pitch is another matter entirely. That's why Newcastle have struggled so badly against them in recent years. How big of a boost it would be for Newcastle if they could finally beat fierce rivals Sunderland.
