The 17-year-old will play for England under-18s this month.

West Ham United defender Reece Oxford has had an incredible season for The Hammers. After shining on the opening day of the season he has become a regular member of the first-team at West Ham.

Oxford has played 11 times for Wet Ham this season and that form has seen him tipped as one of the top young talents in the Premier League.

However he has had his problems at international level recently.

He was pulled out of the England team for the Under-17 World Cup last autumn as West Ham did not want him travelling all the way to South America in the middle of the season.

He did however feature for the England under-19s against Holland and Japan in November.

But he has been dropped down to his age group again, joining up with the under-18s for the upcoming fixtures with Austria and Ireland.

The Sun wrote a report stating he had been 'demoted' and the 17-year-old reacted brilliantly to this report on Twitter - posting:

Oxford's response is perfect. The West Ham talent looks like a real star of the future and if he continues to work hard he will surely one day have a place in the senior England set-up.

This minor set-back will not change that.
