Tony Cottee predicts West Ham v Chelsea

Slaven Bilic

The two sides meet in the Premier League this weekend.

Tony Cottee has predicted that West Ham will draw with Chelsea when the two sides meet in the Premier League this weekend, via London 24.

The two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, having endured completely different campaigns.

The Blues are currently tenth in the table and 11 points away from the top four after a disastrous defence of their Premier League title.

In contrast, the Hammers have been flying under Slaven Bilic and currently find themselves sixth in the table, just four points away from Manchester City in 4th.

All three points would be crucial to them making their way into that group then, but Cottee is predicting a 1-1 draw from the game.

“It is Chelsea on Saturday and though it will be a very difficult game as always at Stamford Bridge, I really think that West Ham have nothing to fear from them,” he told London 24.

“It is almost 30 years to the day that the Boys of ’86 went to Stamford Bridge and came back with a superb 4-0 win where I scored a couple of goals.”

“It would be nice to repeat that, but I think it will be a better pitch to play on than it was that day, so though I know that we are capable of winning, I will go for a 1-1 draw.”

One man who is sure to be key to West Ham’s hopes of picking up all three points will be Dimitri Payet.

The Frenchman has been in sensational form this season and their star man in a number of games, most recently the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup.

If he could replicate that performance, there’s no denying they can travel to Stamford Bridge and get all three points.
