Report: Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing Bundesliga star Jannik Vestergaard

Weserstadion - Werder Bremen

The Danish international has been in great form for Werder Bremen.

Tottenham Hotspur have made good use of the Bundesliga transfer market in recent times. the likes of Kevin Wimmer and Heung-min Son both made the move to Spurs in the summer from Koln and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

Now it is being reported by the press in Germany that Spurs are interested in two more Bundeslig players.

Bild report, as relayed by Fussball Transfers, that Spurs are keen on Werder Bremen defender Jannik Vestergaard.

The 23-year-old Danish international has been one of the standout players in the Bundesliga this term. The tall and athletic centre-back, who can also play at right-back, has previously attracted Premier League interest but only joined Bremen in January 2015 from Hoffenheim.

Spurs are blessed with some great defenders, with Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Wimmer all at their disposal - as well as youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers coming through the ranks and Eric Dier also capable of playing the role.

So Tottenham making a move for the Danish international would be a surprise.

The same report also reiterates previous reports suggesting Spurs are also keen on Augsburg midfielder Dominik Kohr.

Whether the interest holds weight or not remains to be seen, but you can expect to see plenty more Bundesliga talents linked to Tottenham in the coming months.
