Report: Arsenal continue to track Chilean youngster Marcelo Allende

He recently spent two weeks on trial at the club, taking some advice from compatriot Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal are continuing to monitor Chilean youngster Marcelo Allende following his trial at the club, reports the Daily Mail.

The 16-year-old spent two weeks on trial with the Gunners and has seemingly impressed enough for them to keep track of his development.

Indeed, they have already had scouts out to watch him in action following his move from Cobreloa to Sports Santa Cruz.

A deep lying midfielder, Allende is widely regarded as one of Chile’s hottest young talents.

He starred for his country at last year’s U17 World Cup with a series of impressive performances as they made it to the last 16 of the tournament before being knocked out by Mexico.

The youngster didn’t waste his opportunity with Arsene Wenger’s side either, as he took advice from current Chile star Alexis Sanchez, who advised him to bulk up to make the grade at a higher level, according to the Daily Mail.

A move to the Gunners would surely be more than tempting for Allende given their track record of developing young talent over the years.

Wenger has always been a strong advocate of working with youth over the years, and it seems Allende may be the latest to join the long list of success stories already under his belt.
