Predicted Newcastle line-up to play Sunderland: Two changes from Benitez

Newcastle Fans 3

Here is how we predict Newcastle United and Sunderland will line up this weekend:

To be played on Sunday 20th March 2016 at 13:30. Venue: St. James' Park, Newcastle

Odds: Newcastle 23/20, Draw 23/10, Sunderland 5/2

Newcastle United welcome Sunderland to St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon in what is their most important derby of recent times.

The Magpies are currently 19th in the Premier League with 24 points from 29 matches while the Black Cats are one point and two places better off as things stand.

This is very much a relegation six-pointer and whoever comes out on top will go a long way not only to securing their own top-flight future but also condemning their fierce rivals to the drop.

Sunderland have a superb recent record against Newcastle but the hosts will be boosted by the appointment of new manager Rafa Benitez, who will not want to lose back-to-back matches after the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City on Monday.

In early team news, Newcastle are without Tim Krul, Massadio Haidara, Paul Dummett, Gabriel Obertan and Ivan Toney, while Chancel Mbemba and Fabricio Coloccini are also doubts.

As for Sunderland, their manager Sam Allardyce is without Jeremain Lens and Duncan Watmore while Lee Cattermole and Wahbi Khazri are minor doubts.
