Phil Thompson raves about Danny Rose... Roy Hodgson finally agrees

The Tottenham left-back has been the subject of heavy praise.

Phil Thompson believes Danny Rose deserves a place in the England squad due to his 'superb' form this season, according to Sky Sports.

Indeed, the Tottenham Hotspur full-back has impressed many, coming on leaps and bounds from the defender who used to struggle positionally from a defensive viewpoint.

And the pundit feels Rose and Ryan Bertrand should be in the England squad, ahead of the likes of Leighton Baines, Aaron Cresswell and more, while Luke Shaw is out injured.

Thompson told Sky Sports: "Bertrand has probably been the most consistent left-back over the last two seasons for Southampton, while Rose gets in based on the superb season he's having with Tottenham."

And, to the delight of Spurs fans, England boss Roy Hodgson has finally agreed.

Indeed, Rose has been included in the Three Lions squad to face Germany and the Netherlands after being overlooked for quite some time.

Alongside him, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane have also - less surprisingly - made the cut from the Tottenham ranks.

Can Rose now establish himself as a regular England international?
