The Tottenham Hotspur manager has been speaking about the players he picks to start.
Tottenham trail 3-0 from the first leg and it would take their best performance of the season to overturn such a deficit.
Pochettino came in for criticism from some for the weakened side he fielded in Germany, and the Spurs boss has now admitted that perhaps he has not always got it right in terms of team selection as he juggled a number of competitions in recent months.
“Sometimes we rotate, sometimes maybe I made a mistake,” Pochettino told the Standard. “We analyse our decisions a lot. We can always do better and for that we are open to learn.”
It takes a brave manager to publically admit his mistakes but it was always going to be a challenge managing his squad with the Premier League title there for the taking and European glory also on the cards.
The latter may now be over, unless Tottenham put on a show later today that their fans will never forget, but the fact that Pochettino has acknowledged that he does not always get it right bodes well for the future…when perhaps he will.
