Mats Hummels comments on Harry Kane, watched him v Aston Villa

Mats Hummels 2 Germany

The England striker scored twice at the weekend, but may not start against Dortmund tonight.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Borussia Dortmund this evening.

Mauricio Pochettino's side trail 3-0 from the first-leg after being played off the park by the Bundesliga side in Germany.

Pochettino rested players for that game - including main goal threat Harry Kane.

Now one of the Dortmund players has been singing the praises of the England international.

Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying this of the in-form striker:

"Of course, Kane is a big threat. I saw him score two goals on Sunday against Aston Villa.

"We know what a good striker he is. If he is on the pitch, you give him a certain amount of defensive concentration - you focus a little more on him."

Kane has been in fantastic form for Spurs recently and as Hummels says, scored a brace v Aston Villa at the weekend.

However Tottenham still look likely to start the game this evening without the striker.

The main priority now has to be the Premier League and given the fact Spurs are already trailing 3-0 from the first-leg, they might be on a hiding to nothing this evening.

Hummels however also told the Evening Standard that he will be on his toes, regardless of whether Kane starts or not:

"In the whole team, in the offence, they have some pretty nice players. So in the end it doesn't matter who plays.

"It's not that we can chill if he doesn't play because we still have to work on our defence."

Tottenham face a real uphill battle today and it might be best to give up on this tie and leave the likes of Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier out of the picture once again.
